Monty West Company Presents

Welcome to the Hunt Country!

Looking at this Tudor home built ca. 1936, one cannot help but think that its style and construction were influenced by the Frank Mars' mansion completed in 1932 on Milky Way Farm. Over the last few years the home has been sensitively updated with today's luxuries. The whole house has been rewired. There is a new split system electric central heat and air with heat pump. The new master bath with associated walk-in closet is fabulous. There is also a new half bath downstairs and the full bath upstairs has been remodeled.

To the rear of the home, the Gathering Room off the incredible gourmet kitchen has a new "old brick"  wood-burning fireplace with liner. It opens through French Doors to the new cypress deck with a view of the picket fenced back yard. Throughout the home the original hardwoods have been refinished. When new windows have been required, they are Anderson.

The kitchen has been furnished with a Thermador with a gas cook top, and two electric ovens--one is convection. The English Farm Sink is oversized and indispensable for country life. The new refrigerator is a GE side-by-side with lots of whistles and bells. The granite counter tops and custom island make for plenty of work space while the new cabinets provide plenty of convenient storage.

The original character and craftsmanship of the home remain from the amazing doors, the gracious, open public areas to the cozy nooks and crannies of the upstairs bedrooms.

The seven stall center aisled main barn has been rewired in conduit. There are sheds on either side for storage or for additional stalls in the future. The loft is huge. In many of the stalls are hand-built wooden hay racks with wooden troughs below to limit hay wastage. There are also built-in bucket rests. When the Mennonites were working on it, they estimated that it would take $75,000 to $100,000 to replace this barn. Note the lightning rods.

The original craftsmanship is apparent in the stalls. They don't build them like this anymore.

The 25 fertile acres have been improved with extensive new board fenced paddocks. The three new run-in sheds have lightning rods as well.

The brown building is the ample garage/shop. Not pictured is a small refurbished "pony barn" in one of the paddocks.

The creek transverses the farm. There are also two wells, a spring, and city water.

View of the farm and the one across the road from the hay field. The hay field is fenced with woven wire.

The farm is adjacent to the Hunt Country providing additional riding opportunities.

Offered at $565,000.
